About The Designer

Inspired by unfamiliar places, objects, and experiences, Maya Charbin has always been driven to discover the unknown. Born in Lebanon and based in Toronto, her design aesthetic is reflective of a global influence.
Maya developed her unique signature “Versatile silhouettes” influenced by Japanese Designers flawlessly blended with multinational spirits.
Maya is a storyteller and her garments “speak” to the audience, bringing to light a charming, diaphanous woman, with a strong sense of creativity.
She is continuously following her inspiration, which takes her to most unexpected places, creating fashion stories with abnormality flowing from them, broadcasting the message of strong morals and forgotten values in an innovative, post-contemporary way.
Previously finding a creative outlet in her employment as a make-up artist with MAC Cosmetics, Charbin’s relentless passion for design drove the mother of two to return to school and explore her childhood dream.
Graduating from Esmod International Fashion University Group, Charbin was the recipient of three awards. Her graduation collection was selected for display in Beirut’s largest department store.
Charbin made her Toronto debut during Fashion Art Toronto in April 2015. And since then she has gone on to showcase her collections at Torino Fashion Week in 2016 and 2017 and has also put up her private shows with the most recent one being in May 2018. The journey for Maya has just begun, with her winning the Emerging Artist Award under Creative Design category at this year’s Marty’s. She has also had the honour of dressing celebrities, both Canadian and International for the last two editions of TIFF. Her Mayor, Bonnie Crombie, trusts her to dress her for special public occasions. Moreover, Miss Universe Canada 2018, sported Maya's creations while in Bangkok, representing the country.
One thing that keeps her going is her clients who feel no less than exceptional in her pieces and keep coming back for more.
